Sebo Walker & the Annual kids’ show

THE WHO, WHAT, WHERE, and HOW

What is the Annual kids show?

The Third Annual Kids Art Show invites Portland’s young artists to bring their boldest expressions, joined by Sebo Walker (professional painter, skater, and all around champion of kids creative empowerment), whose playful abstractions make this show a true exchange of inspiration across all ages.

The work will be exhibited Dec 5th through January 4th, with an opening party Saturday December 6th

As per usual, expect an EPIC opening party with all the fun activation, photo booth, community painting, and fun party favors….Plus this year — a special zine featuring every young artist’s work and bio, with a portion of sales going to charity.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Kids ages 0–17 are welcome! All work must be submitted by an adult on behalf of the young artist (see submission form below).

  • Participants must be based in or around Portland, Oregon.

  • Medium: Any 2-D visual art medium (painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, etc.) is acceptable. Just be sure the artwork can fit into a standard frame.

  • Size: 11x14” - We’ll provide paper for pickup or you can use your own.

  • Parent/guardian contributes a $15 fee per young artist to cover framing (collected at drop-off on or by Nov 15).

  • Every young artist who submits will be included in the show (up to 3 pieces can be entered, but only one piece will be selected). At The Purple Door, we strive to create an inclusive environment that fosters inspiration and creativity for all. If circumstances make participation difficult, email thepurpledoorpdx@gmail.com — we’ll do our best to help make it possible.

  • Most importantly, kids should feel free to be exactly who they are!

  • Intent to submit is due by October 19 — but don’t worry, you’ll have until November 15 to drop off your physical artwork!

What happens at the end of the show? Sales and Returns?

  • Every artwork will be framed in 11x14” white frames and priced at $50.

  • If a piece sells, the young artist receives 60% of the sale ($30 per piece)

  • If a piece does not sell, the framed artwork will be returned to the family.

pre-ENtry form is closed.

If you missed the deadline but still want to enter, reach out to us ASAP at thepurpledoorpdx.com and we’ll see what we can do to accommodate you. We are in the process of ordering frames so space and timing is limited. Thank you for understanding!

“I go to school by my house and I can walk there. I have a sister and her name is JoJo. My daddy is named Rob. I 'm almost 5 and my birthday is in December. I made this rainbow and then I made a circle. And then I said, "maybe I can make a person!"
